A take-home tells you what someone could produce overnight with unlimited help. A sitting tells you how they think under a clock, with the tools they will really use.
What a band is, and is not
A band is a placement signal for your process: comparable across candidates, honest about its own margin. It is not a qualification, and it makes no claim about anyone's employability.
A person decides
Scoring proposes. A reviewer confirms, by name, before a band is final. Nothing is decided by a machine alone.
