What to check before you ship it in India
- If the agent pastes the customer's own words into the assistant, that is processing of personal data. Section 4(1) of the DPDP Act 2023 allows processing only for a lawful purpose resting on consent or on a listed legitimate use, and the legitimate uses are the closed list in section 7. Section 7(a) may cover the customer's own words, but it does not stretch to secondary uses such as model training or pipeline hygiene.
- Anything shown beside a live conversation is read under time pressure, which is precisely the condition in which a wrong suggestion gets sent on verbatim.
